You should choose your ring sling fabric according to how you want to use it most often or for what purpose.
Cotton is the most popular baby ring sling fabric, it's soft and comfortable. It also breathes well, allowing baby to stay cool in the summer months. Gauzefabric is lightweight, comfortable, and breathable - but it does not support the weight of heavier babies very well so they're best for use with newborns or young infants. They are easy to care for since you can wash them by hand in cold water. But gauze baby ring slings tend to be more expensive.
Polyester is a great choice for summer baby ring slings because it's lightweight and breathable, but can also trap heat in winter so may not be best all year round.

Wool baby ring sling fabrics can be very warm for winter babywearing but are also breathable baby ring slings which are great for baby in the summer babywearing. But baby ring slings made of wool are usually a little expensive.
Silk are very soft and they’re lightweight, breathable baby ring slings which makes them ideal for summer babywearing. But you need to be careful with silk because of the slippery nature of silk fabric on babies' skin.
There are other baby ring sling fabrics available that may be a blend of one or two natural materials mixed with some synthetic fibers, but it’s important to remember that even pure organic cotton baby ring slings will still have been processed and this can reduce their benefits.
